He’s Like Snoring?

The men who have attained the age of 30 years generally snore during sleep. It is said to Michael Thorpy, MD, Director of the Sleep-Wake Disorders Center at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. Many people consider snoring habit as something harmless. In fact, some people experienced stopping breathing while snoring, without realizing it. This is of course dangerous. Because, if someone has stopped breathing more than 10 seconds, he could be killed instantly.

“However, not all snoring problems to worry about. Snoring can be considered normal, if the snorer has stopped breathing less than five times in an hour. Which is considered severe if the snorer has stopped breathing more than 30 times in an hour. This problem is called obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), “said Dr. Andreas Prasadja, RPSGT, sleep scientist from RS Mitra Kemayoran, Jakarta.

How to cope with snoring:

Keep your weight. Try measuring neck circumference partner. If more than 43 cm, most likely he is overweight. “People who are overweight are likely to experience breathing problems during sleep, including snoring,” said Charles Bae, MD, neurologist and sleep expert from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. This happens because the pressure on the airways increases, so the rate of oxygen then joined inhibited.

Change sleep position. Generally, people snore while sleeping supine. In some people, changing the sleeping position to be sideways, sometimes can put her to sleep without snoring.

Check with yourself. Note the condition of your partner when you wake up in the morning. If the husband is often claimed to feel refreshed when waking in the morning, immediately take him checked by a sleep specialist. Or, if he was often found asleep while driving a car. Maybe he was having OSA. This causes sleep at night not qualified. Patients with OSA also often have high blood pressure and erectile dysfunction.
